"So very thankful I found Kana! I had such a great experience and my make up looked absolutely flawless!
Thank you Kana for making my prom day special :)"
In my line of work, it is expected of me to stay up on all the trends of the award show, but to be honest I have NEVER watched the Oscars.
I think I chose a really good year to though. Ellen DeGeneres was an amazing host. I found myself entertained the whole show. From her taking selfies with the stars in the audience to feeding them pizza in their formal outfits, she took all the stuffiness out of my idea of what the award show would consist of.
Highlights for me:
- Seeing Hair & Makeup Artist winners Adruitha Lee and Robin Mathews. As a makeup artist it is so cool to see how far you can take your profession and that other people realize the weight hair & makeup carries as far as helping tie together the vision that films try to portray.
- Meryl Streep gettin' it with Pharell during his performance.
- Lupito Nyong'o giving her acceptance speech. I got teary eyed. I think it is amazing that she recognized that it took someone else's pain for her to be there. The the words that struck me the most were "no matter where you're from your dreams are valid".
I laughed, I cried, I felt it all...
But I did not forget what I came for! A bit of fashion & ya'll know I have to add some Local Love in when I get a chance. Below are my favorite looks of the night with a few correlating Paparazzi Glamour & Gown looks!
Overall great show & I will definitely be watching next year!!
