Treat Yo' Self Tuesday // The Beauty Room Evansville

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU....

BUT while it was amazing to catch up with family during the Holiday Season it also comes with some not so good things. Like the kind of food that sends you into a sugar coma. For me that leads to breakouts, then also stress about my breakouts..so on & so forth.
DETOX doesn't always come in the form of fasting or juicing for a few days. The most effective way can be from detoxing the mind. Taking a mental break can help set the tone for a calmer mind set for the holidays.
Treat Yo' Self in the best way possible. Give your mind, body & soul a break with a holistic facial teaser. GIVING 30 minutes out of your day to yourself will fill your cup of love back up to the brim.

If you been wanting to try a facial, but giving every excuse in the world not to, make Tuesday the day you don't have any more excuses.

When your cup is full you can give more.

Tuesday Nov 29th is also GIVING TUESDAY!

You know all those "THINGS" you had to have year after year that you don't NEED any more? Well there are women who do need those things. My favorite charity to give to is House of Bread & Peace
Their mission "...is to provide for the basic needs of homeless women and children while assisting the women in becoming independent and self sufficient. We help them build a strong foundation for a more successful life by identifying and addressing their individual needs and goals."

When you visit on Tuesday, feel free to bring any of these items! I will be dropping off Wednesday morning.
* Underwear
* Gently Used Bras
* Tampons/ Pads
* Gently used business casual clothing / shoes
* Home-ware
* Bedding
* Books

Blossoming Beauty Workshop Wrap Up

It is no big secret. I have been known to not be that fond of the younger generation.

I am just not a kid person. Things have been changing in the past few months though, as I have been working closely with my girlfriend Kassy who owns a dress boutique that specializes in prom dresses. Having more high school age ladies in my Beauty Room this year I've gotten to get to know a little bit more of their lifestyles and how they think.

The real defining moment of me wanting to work with young women came when a girl & her mom, people I had NEVER met, came up to me in Michael's Craft Store (my obsession), and proceeded to tell me that they follow on me on Instagram & find me to be inspiring.

Me? Inspiring? To an 12 year old girl? The rest of that day mind was blown. I got up the next day and thought of ways I could give back to this girl and any others that I had no idea were looking up to me. I decided to take my Knowledge & Love of Beauty and teach them that! The Blossoming Beauty Workshop was born!

They say the best way to learn, is to teach. This proved to be right after hosting my first Blossoming Beauty Natural Skin Care, Makeup & Wellness Workshop.  In getting ready to teach these young ladies to beautify themselves utilizing natural products I learned a lot about myself and the values I'd like to voice from an nontraditional makeup artist and esthetics viewpoint. Everything we ever need comes right from the earth. I'd like to teach more of this to the girls that get bombarded daily with products that are promising a quick fix, but in the long run harming their beautiful vessels.

Here are some highlights from the Workshop. Whitney Hames of Bad Apple Nutrition also joined us to tell us what to eat for beautiful skin!

I loved it and I can't wait to host another!

What would you all like the next one to cover?

Brown Sugar Face Scrub

Exfoliation is amazing for your skin. It is one of the keys to keeping your skin looking fresh. There are tons of different ways to exfoliate. This year I am trying to keep my skin care as simple and natural as possible. Everything we could ever need to nourish our bodies has been provided for us through the earth! Let's start utilizing all that goodness!!

Here is an awesome Brown Sugar Scrub that can be used for face & body:

  • Mix a tbsp equal parts of warm extra virgin olive oil  & brown sugar.

  •  Starting with 1/2 tbsp of honey, add into your scrub and mix well.  Add more until your mixture becomes gooey.  Depending on the ingredients you use, you can adjust the amount of each ingredient until your scrub becomes the desire texture, a gooey and slightly sticky mix.

  •  Once the perfect consistency, apply it to a clean and damp face and gently scrub for 1-2 minutes, concentrating on the rough patches.

  •  Wash your scrub off with warm water, and follow with a facial treatment or moisturizer.  Enjoy your smooth skin.

For best results, you can use this 1 to 2x a week.

Note: Your skin should never feel raw after a scrub, if so chill out! Your scrubbing  too hard. Make sure you put nutrients back into your skin by moisturizing afterwards.

Enjoy!!!
