A "Instagram" look is a look that feeds the culture that begets being insecure , because you are looking at images that are crafted to catch your attention when you are scrolling down your feed. It's not real, you would not feel comfortable on date with your husband, or a family reunion or any to other special occasion where you'll be interacting with people wearing any of those styles.
The Beauty Room specializes in assisting each unique bride reach her full Blushing Bride Potential. From bohemian to glam and everything in between you can trust The Beauty Room to take your look to the ultimate level for your wedding day!

Of course she had to get some lovely photos to capture the engagement by the one and only Alisha Sims Photography! This photo set was featured in Love IT! EVV Magazine's Bridal issue. Looking like a complete hawty strutting through the city with her beau. I loved creating this sultry makeup look with IT! Cosmetics contour palette and Lorac Pro.

NEW is the hot word for January. Whether it be a new workout regimen, new clothes from holiday gifts or a new job. January is the big reboot month for everyone.
Getting new things can be good for a change of pace. I mean, who doesn't love werk'in it in a new skirt that hugs them just right or wearing a new lipstick shade that brings life to their face? We all do.
As we get all of this new stuff, how are you making room for it? There are so many things that I bet aren't serving you anymore. As I was going through my clothes last night and cleaning out my makeup this morning I realized how much stuff I haven't worn in ages or haven't used at all.
I participated in a photo shoot last month (that will be featured in Love IT! Evv Magazine, yippie!) called Reuse, Repurpose, Reimagine. We used vintage dresses and some upcycled jewelry to dress the models. One of the former owners of the dresses was so thrilled to let us use the dresses, because although beautiful they weren't serving her anymore.
I want us all to use this concept this month and really all year! Instead of holding on to things we don't use why don't we pass them on to those who can enjoy them & put them to use!
I found a great local non- profit organization called the House of Bread & Peace. They help women get back on their feet and find jobs and homes. I think this is amazing. I am donating new & unused makeup and also gently worn business casual clothes to this organization to help these women have the same feeling that I have when I get dressed, and that's the power to take on the world.
If you would like to join me in donating, bring your gently worn business casual clothing, unused and sealed makeup, boxes of tampons or pads, deodorant, really just anything that a woman would need to get ready for her day. I will give you $10 to use towards your appointment with me! You give, I give, we all give!! And guess what? We all WIN too!!
So here's to a fabulous 2015 & let the giving season continue!
Other Happenings for January 2015
Products you may want to try this month are :
SKINCARE: Soap Solutions Perfectly Polished - It's still dry skin season. If you're wondering why the extra moisture you're putting on isn't soaking in, 9 times out of 10 you have flaky dead layers of skin blocking your healthy tissue. The best way to remedy that is with an exfoliator. This all natural mix of herbs & clay is perfect for gently removing dead cells.
MAKEUP : BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed good lord it is one of the most beautiful highlighters I have EVER used! I am obsessed! Give this a good swipe on the top of your cheekbones, right under your brows & on the in corners of your eyes. Be light handed as it is very pigmented! A little goes a long way!
The winner of Makeover Monday is Katie Slepsky!!
You too can enter to WIN a FREE facial or Makeup Lesson HERE! It will be announced the first Monday of each month!
I am a huge advocate for making room for new things. You can't allow more of anything into your life if your cluttering it with things that aren't serving you.
You can apply this to your makeup bag as well. As the holidays approach the people who love you will be getting you skincare & makeup products (fingers crossed). That means you need to let go of those products that aren't serving you anymore! Take a look over this list and make room for your new goodies that are on the way!
Keep in mind these will vary. Especially if you use more natural products that have little to no preservatives. This is just a reference. Always double check your packaging!

It is no big secret. I have been known to not be that fond of the younger generation.
I am just not a kid person. Things have been changing in the past few months though, as I have been working closely with my girlfriend Kassy who owns a dress boutique that specializes in prom dresses. Having more high school age ladies in my Beauty Room this year I've gotten to get to know a little bit more of their lifestyles and how they think.
The real defining moment of me wanting to work with young women came when a girl & her mom, people I had NEVER met, came up to me in Michael's Craft Store (my obsession), and proceeded to tell me that they follow on me on Instagram & find me to be inspiring.
Me? Inspiring? To an 12 year old girl? The rest of that day mind was blown. I got up the next day and thought of ways I could give back to this girl and any others that I had no idea were looking up to me. I decided to take my Knowledge & Love of Beauty and teach them that! The Blossoming Beauty Workshop was born!
They say the best way to learn, is to teach. This proved to be right after hosting my first Blossoming Beauty Natural Skin Care, Makeup & Wellness Workshop. In getting ready to teach these young ladies to beautify themselves utilizing natural products I learned a lot about myself and the values I'd like to voice from an nontraditional makeup artist and esthetics viewpoint. Everything we ever need comes right from the earth. I'd like to teach more of this to the girls that get bombarded daily with products that are promising a quick fix, but in the long run harming their beautiful vessels.
Here are some highlights from the Workshop. Whitney Hames of Bad Apple Nutrition also joined us to tell us what to eat for beautiful skin!
I loved it and I can't wait to host another!
