Woman Crush Wednesday | #WCW | Rhonda DiLeo

As some of you know I run a monthly makeover contest, #MakeoverMonday. My winner this month actually ended up being a hottie already but what made her even more hot is her fighter spirit.

It is very hard to go through and choose someone when all the stories are very heart touching. Rhonda's story is one of hope which is what stuck out to me the most. I loved that she wasn't wanting to win it because she felt she NEEDED it, she wanted to win because she had worked so hard on improving herself and knew this would COMPLIMENT that hard work she had already put in.

I am naturally drawn to free spirits and strong women. Rhonda is a great example of a strong woman.

Tell us your story!

I recently celebrated 10yrs of sobriety from a 21 yr active drug addiction. I will soon have my college degree in Human Services with a focus in Substance Abuse. I have since dedicated my life to helping others through their own struggles. Also, I have recently lost 50 of the 75 pounds that I put on throughout my recovery. I'm feeling amazing on the inside and I think looking that way on the outside would be the 'cherry on top', so I entered the #MakeoverMonday contest!!! Low and behold I WON!!! It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to EVERYONE! Because of my belief that we should help others through sharing our experiences, I decided to become part of this experience for others by offering my services as part of the package to future winners!

What advice would you give someone going through a recovery?

Be accountable!!! Own your choices, good or bad!! This will help you to gain control back of your life and empower you to make better choices for your future!!

Who is a woman you look up to?

Leigh Anne Tuohy (from the Blind Side story). This is a woman I admire beyond words. The thing I love about her is her courage and desire to reach out against all odds and do what she can to make a difference even if it was 'just one person', she used what was available to her and did everything she could for that 1 person, and through helping one, she inspired multitudes....it just goes to show that each of us have the power to change the world 1 person at a time!!!!

Favorite instant pick me up?

This would definitely be contemporary Christian music such as the music they play on K-Love radio. The music I hear there reminds me that everything is under control and comforts me in my times of need, as well as reminds me to spend each moment of my life trying to be a light to others.
